Rer is very different from Keir in a lot of ways. Rer had grown up in the same neighborhood as Keir and they were always friends even to this day. He is the only non-involved living soul that knows why Keir and Engzom had gotten into a fight and stopped being best friends. When Keir thinks that he should protect humans as well as dermians, Rer thinks that it's a waste of time. He doesn't believe that Keir will ever stop the human race from hating the dermians. Not after what Vark had done to them.
When the Wrath had started, Rer had to use his chameleon-like powers to make Keir, Leoc, Chuckie, Jewels, him, and his parents appear to be human.
One of the original members of the "Dermian Defenders," Rer was of course one of their top fighters. He and Keir were always there for each other when they needed it. Rer's animosity towards humans was further fueled when a human "Soldier" named Radar had brainwashed Rer and tried to make him attack Keir.
He's always taken a sarcastic view towards life. Never really one for formality, he quickly took up sports of all kinds, especially basketball. Will always be a friend to Keir no matter what the circumstances are.
